Music and Memory: This was a project for my A/V Newsgathering class. For the assignment, we had to interview an artist and an expert on music, and ask what the artist’s favorite song is, along with several other questions.
- Website Offers Public Input in Lawmaking: This was a story published in the print version of the Temple News about a project a graduate student was doing. I also pitched this story to the producers at WHYY and Cory Suter was later inverviewed on NewsWorks Tonight.
- Democratic candidate for attorney general talks religion at meeting: Throughout my time writing for the Temple News, I got to meet with a handful of local politicians. This was one event I was able to attend. Rather than focusing on everything he said that night, I zoned in on one theme of the questions he answered from students.

- From rags to cashmere: Homeless man becomes fashion designer: I was able to interview this clothing designer and go to a screening of his documentary during my time in Washington, D.C. I found this story through a D.C. fashion blog, and it wound up being a good story for Street Sense.
- Beds, not buses: study shows it would be cheaper to prevent family homelessness: This story shows my ability to sort through the language of a study to find the real story worth reporting on by contacting the right people and asking the right questions. This also demonstrates my ability to navigate the many-tiered systems of governmental and nonprofit organizations.
